Daily Disney Tip #26 - 3 day ticket + 1 day at water park!

[-]Water Park Fun & More (Fun Visits) (3 day) - plus extra day free
Now Shipping 100% RFID, FastPass+ Enabled Tickets!

Admission to one or more of the following theme parks for each day of the ticket - 4 "Days"* (1 park per day; no hopping between the four parks listed immediately below):
Choose a visit to one of the following for each of your 4 "Fun Visits":
  • Blizzard Beach
  • Typhoon Lagoon
  • Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course (tee time reservations are required and subject to availability)
  • DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park
  • ESPN Wide World of Sports® Complex (Some events require an additional admission charge; includes 30 minutes of game access at The PlayStation Pavilion on days when it is operating)
  • Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course (Valid for one miniature golf course visit per day before 4:00 p.m.)
  • Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course (Valid for one miniature golf course visit per day before 4:00 p.m.)
Key Points:
  1. If you were to visit Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon then you have used 2 "Fun Visits". If you visit a Theme Park and then a Water Park (both on the same day or not), that would be 1 "Day" and 1 "Fun Visit" used up.
  2. Ticket expires 14 days after the date of first use - you activate it by entering your 1st park.
  3. Days do not have to be used consecutively.
  4. Water Parks are subject to seasonal closure.
  5. Parking is not included, but the FastPass is; all Disney tickets sold include it.
  6. Visiting more than one Theme Park on the same day requires the "Park Hopper" Option (available above and the tickets cost more). You cannot hop by using 2 days of your ticket to hop on the same day.
  7. *When you purchase a Water Park Fun & More (3 day), we'll automatically upgrade it to a Water Park Fun & More (4 day) ticket, free of charge. It is a regular Water Park Fun & More (4 day) ticket, exactly the same as a Water Park Fun & More (4 day) that you could buy from the gate.
  8. On the back of your ticket(s) it will say "W/4 FUN VISITS", because there is not enough room to print "Water Park Fun & More".

Daily Disney Tip #25 - trading pins

Disney trading pins can get expensive if you want the limited time collectible. But, you can always buy the cheapest ones and then go around trading!

Every Disney employee has to trade with you if you ask them!!

Children LOVE trading their pins. Even adults like to trade for the old pins or find collectibles!
Here are some of mine!

Daily Disney Tip #24 - bring your own glow sticks

Disney's nighttime parades, shows, and fireworks are spectacular! And of course they have all kinds of night time glowing merchandise with a jacked up price!

Bring your own glow sticks, necklaces, bracelets, and whatever else. Dollar tree sells packs for $1!

1 Disney glow necklace could be $5.

Save money for the good souvenirs!

Disney Daily Tip #23 - Disney merchandise

The Downtown Disney - World of Disney - store has the most merchandise, but if you aren't in Orlando and still want Official Disney stuff... check out the Disney Store online!

http://www.disneystore.com/mn/1013305/?CMP=KNC-DSPTDSGoogle&s_kwcid=TC%7c12111%7cdisney%2520store%7c%7cS%7ce%7c27894063912
This is the USA disney store website

BUT other countries have their own Disney store online - with DIFFERENT merchandise!!
I've been told Japan has the best Disney store online accessories and France has the cutest clothes!

You can find the different ones here:
http://www.disneyinternational.com/

Entertain your child in line!

Waiting in long lines is never fun, especially when you have children who can't stand still or keep complaining "I'm bored!".

Play some simple games!
I spy

Look around and see if you can spy any hidden mickeys! They are EVERYWHERE.

Ask your child where they want to go next.
Talk about their favorite movie.
Quiz them about some Disney movies or characters! "What colors were the fairies in Sleeping Beauty?" "What did Snow White eat that made her sleep?"
Ask them to describe what they think the ride you're about to ride - what movie is it from? What characters will we see?

Try to get fast passes for the rides that will have long lines like Peter Pan's Flight, Toy Story Mania, etc.

Daily Disney Tip #22 - Visit the Resort Hotels!

Disney transportation from the parks to the resort hotels (and vice versa) is free! - Talking about the Disney buses. This is because Disney encourages you to visit the resort hotels!

Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, Swan & Dolphin, Contemporary Resort, Fort Wilderness, etc. - They all have something special to offer: crafts, movies, restaurants, Character meet & greets, campfires, and many more!

Disney World news 02/11/14

Very soon ( by the end of spring), annual passholders will be able to get MagicBands and use FastPass+ even if they don't have a Disney World resort hotel reservation!

This will be extremely helpful for Florida residents who don't stay on Disney Property but visit often.

1st trip to WDW help!

What should you pack? Where should you stay? When should you book reservations? How much money do you need to save? What time of year should you go?

No matter what time of year you visit DW, you should always pack a pair of shorts! I have worn shorts in December and January in Florida! You just never know! It gets chilly at dark during the spring and fall (and obviously winter), so be sure to bring a hoodie or jacket!
***You must bring good walking shoes like tennis shoes! You can easily walk 10-15 miles per day at the parks!***

Disney property has so many resort hotels to choose from - Value resorts to luxury resorts. Each resort hotel has free transportation to the parks as well as to and from the airport!
You can book over a year in advance on the Disney World website! You will have to make a My Disney Experience account - it's free and worth it!
You can stay off Disney Property and commute to the DW parks, but parking is $15 for cars & $18 for buses! Remember, these fees increase every year!
Usually the non-Disney resorts are cheaper per night.

*A great value resort is Disney's Art of Animation Resort! Each room is decorated like you are inside of a Disney Movie -- The Little Mermaid, Lion King, Cars, Finding Nemo

To get the best deals, you could try to book a month or two in advanced (60 days), but that's only if you want to risk not getting to go! Personally, I am a planner, so I like to have my rooms booked 1 year in advance!
You can call Disney if you booked ahead and there is now a discount, and ask for them to give you that discount. Most of the time, they will! If you already paid in full, they can upgrade your room or give you a refund for the discount.

Money, Money, MONEY! How much should you save? Well that depends on many factors. How many people are in your party? How many children? How long are you staying? Where will you stay? Are you flying or driving?
I would plan to spend $50 on food per person per day in the parks - this is snacks, drinks, & sit down meals. You can easily save and spend $20 per person per day on food if you bring your own drinks and eat at the counter service restaurants. You can bring your own food in the parks also! It is a hassle, but its possible!

Children will want souvenirs: trading pins, Mickey ears, costumes, toys, etc. I suggest setting an amount you are willing to spend on souvenirs, and put that amount on a Disney gift card. These cards can be used online and in the parks at restaurants and stores! I would expect to spend $75 per child on souvenirs. This includes autograph books, shirts, toys, Mickey ears, and those glowing balloons.

Tickets are expensive!!! Children under 3 are free! Children 3-9 have discounted tickets (like $20 cheaper). If you can, avoid paying for a park hopper ticket, then it is much cheaper. The downside of not having a park hopper, is you can only enter 1 park per day. So you can start in Magic Kingdom and then decide you want to see Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios- if you have a park hopper. Also, don't buy tickets from Disney (except annual passes)! Buy from the Orlando Walmart or undercover tourist or another discount website.

The best time to go:
March -May - See EPCOT's International flower and garden festival!
September - EPCOT's Food and Wine festival
November - the Christmas Decorations go up November 8.
December Christmas
January- Chritstmas/New Years

Remember the holidays have higher prices! They raise the resort hotels price, the food prices, and ticket prices at the door.

Daily Disney Tip #21 - booking your flight!

If you fly to Disney World, try to book your flight 4 months in advance. That is usually when prices are best. You will need to get online and look everyday to get the best price.

If you fly, Disney Magical Express will transport you for FREE from the airport to your Disney resort hotel! They will also drop you off when it is time to fly home!

Daily Disney Tip #19 - The BEST times to go to DW!

Winter:

Jan 2-8 The crowds are way down since the holidays are over, but Disney still has their Christmas decorations up!
All of January is a great time - be sure to look for discounts in December! Rooms are cheap!

All of February - there should not be very many people visiting

March 1-10 This is before the Spring Breakers come crashing in!

All of April is okay.. just watch the weather for those showers and have a poncho!

May 1-20 It is warm enough for the water parks, Kali river rapids, and Splash Mt! The crowds are minimal because most schools are still in session!

AVOID JUNE & JULY

August 20-end It is still warm enough for the water parks and rides, and there are little crowds.

All of September - Weather is nice, no crowds, and EPCOT's wine and food festival!

November can be tricky, because most schools get the whole week of Thanksgiving off, so the crowds around that week can be extreme. Starting around November 8, Disney puts up the Christmas decorations!

December 1-15 This is the prettiest time of year because of the decorations!!

Daily Disney Tip #18

Wear good shoes! Tennis shoes will be your best bet! NO flip flops - you will get blisters and your feet will be aching before the end of the day!

You could easily walk 10-15 miles per day, so wear your walking shoes!

Daily Disney Tip #17 - EPCOTs Italy

Don't miss the Ziti Sister! They are hilarious! Men WATCH OUT if you are close to the front! They will grab you and make you join them in dancing, and they will even dress you up for their fashion show!
Ladies, you will be laughing the whole time!
You must look at the time sheet to know when to see them! Don't miss it!

Daily Disney Tip #20 - freebie

The harmony barbarshop on Main Street & Castle Couture in fantasyland offer FREE hair gel, confetti, and "pixie dust" for you child's hair!

Top Freebies #1

Free samples of drinks at EPCOTs Cool Club! Unlimited samples!

Also, most carts and counter service will give you free ice water!

Daily Disney Tip #16 - worst time to visit

June 1 - August 10 is the busiest & hottest time of the year to visit!

The first week of June is also unofficially gay week - when a bunch of homosexual couples visit Disney World. Many inappropriate acts have been reported during this week from both homosexuals and heterosexual couples. Not child friendly!

Daily Disney Tip #15 - Annual Pass discount for resort rooms!

Disney World always has some discounts for annual passholders! The big one is the discounts on the merchandise, but the lesser known one is the discount on resort rooms!

A new discount comes out every month. You should book your resort reservation 1 year in advance if you can. Then, 2 months before your vacation, call DW and have them look for an annual passholder discount for rooms.

***You must already have your annual pass linked to your Disney Experience account!***

They will update your reservation and take off $$$ or, if you have already paid in full, they will refund the amount of the discount.

Disney Store Free Shipping

For 3 days (starting Feb 3, 2014), the Disney store online is offering free shipping with any purchase of Disney Parks -  if you use code PARKFREE

Sunday, February 2, 2014

Daily Disney Tip #14 - smoking

There are designated areas for cigarette smoking in each park.
If you are smoking in smoke-free areas, you will be escorted out of the park and told not to come back until you can follow the rules. Sometimes, they will just escort you to the nearest area, but those are the nice castmembers.

You can NOT smoke on the balcony, patio, or inside the room of any Disney resort. They will charge you the total costs of making the area smoke-free again. There are designated smoking areas outside of the resort hotel.

A fee up to $500 will be charged to guest smoking in non-smoking areas.

Smoking areas:
MK:
outside of Big Thunder MT RR
by Aloha Isle in Adventureland
Plaza Icecream parlor - right at the castle end of Main Street
Between the Carousel of Progress & Space Mountain
The walkway behind Tomorrowland Speedway
Behind the castle by Sir Mickeys

EPCOT:
outside Mission Space
outside The Land
on both sides of the entrance to World Showcase
Norway
Italy
Between Japan & Morocco
by the ferry on the other side of France

HS:
outside of Studio Backlot Tour
between Americal Idol and the Great Movie Ride
outside of Indiana Jones
to the left of the entrance to Rockin' Roller Coaster
at the top of the stadium for Fantasmic

AK:
outside Rainforest Café
at Habitat Habitat
to the right of Dinosaur
to the left of Pizzafari down a trail
on the trail between Expedition Everest & Nemo the musical

You can find these and the ones for the resorts and waterparks at the Disney website: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/designated-smoking-areas/

Glow with the Show Ears

These magical ear hats light up (glow) with the music of special shows:
Wishes - MK
Celebrate the Magic - MK
Fantasmic - HS
Osborne Family Spectacle of dancing lights - HS

More shows like Illuminations Reflections of Earth and the future AK nighttime show will be added.

You can buy these at select stores in MK and HS for $25. If you buy the pricy dinners combos that include the VIP section of Fantasmic, then they might give you one (per person).

Most children will see these and beg for them! They are neat and they will work for the future shows, but you will have to decide if they are worth $25.
